You Have a Rendezvous With Your Dream Job Interview in

2 Months … Are You Ready To Win The Job?

This post is the sixth in a 10-part blog series to not only get you ready for that dream job interview, but put you on notice for how you are going to make it happen!

Ten Questions You Should Never Stop Asking

Have I become a fan of those companies?

If work, your livelihood, is about being part of a story larger than just your story, what types of people do you like to work with?  Are their leaders people you want to be a fan of?  Is a company’s mission important to you?  Have you discovered what the mission is for the companies you have identified as desirable employees?

What does becoming a fan mean?

Being a fan is to initiate a two way communication between you and one or more people that acknowledge one party in appreciation.

One of your target companies won an award?  Send a note of congratulations to the likely person connected to the award and copy the hiring line manager you desire to work for.

Your targeted hiring line manager’s son plays local high school sports and you read about a super performance – send a note of acknowledgement.

You are a customer of the company you would like to work for and one of their employees gave you great service – send a note to their manager and copy ….

Interest and appreciation and being a loyal fan of a company and people that you would like to work for – and expressing that appreciation in an authentic way -  is the most effective way to start establishing yourself as a viable candidate.

Doing the homework on the company, staying current with their news and expressing your sincere interest will put you head and shoulders above the rest of the pack when your position opens up.  Be a fan.
